Breeders' Cup Update in French Race
Marchand D'Or Fr (Marchand De Sable USA) won it the last three years and is sidelined for a rest.
Naaqoos has not raced since May when he was demoted to sixth (after coming in third) in the Poule d'Essai des Poulains (Group 1) for interference.
The winner of the Prix will be guaranteed a place in the $1 million Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint which will run at six-and-half furlongs on Saturday, November 7.
The Breeders’ Cup Challenge will hold a total of 11 Challenge races held
This will be a "busy weekend for the Breeders’ Cup Challenge also includes the Grade One Whitney Handicap (August 8) on the dirt of Saratoga for a starting position into the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic; and the turf Grade One Beverly D Stakes at Arlington (August 8) for the $2 million Emirates Airline Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf.
There will also be plenty of European representation in the Chicago course's feature race on the same card, the Grade One Arlington Million for an automatic spot in the $3 million Emirates Airline Breeders’ Cup Turf, with Cima De Triomphe, Stotsfold and Gloria De Campeao set to line up in the prestigious 10-furlong turf contest.
The next two European races of the Breeders’ Cup Challenge are the Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh on August 30, with the winner earning a starting position in the $1 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (November 6), and the Group One Tattersalls Million Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown on September 5, with the first home receiving a berth in the $3 million Emirates Airline Breeders' Cup Turf (November 7).
