Dar Re Mi Whips Sariska in the Yorkshire Oaks

The winner of the first Breeders' Cup Challenge race in Europe, the Audi Pretty Polly Stakes (Group 1) at the Curragh, proved her mettle in the Darley Yorkshire Oaks (Group 1) by inflicting a decisive shock defeat on the favourite Sariska (Pivotal) who won the English and Irish Oaks. Four-year-old Dar Re Mi (Singspeil IRE), ridden brilliantly by the Ebor Festival's top jockey Jimmy Fortune, showed her unbeatable toughness and speed to change the history Sariska's trainer Michael Bell had imagined with Sariska becoming the first English filly to win the Arc de Triomphe.
That first English filly to win the Arc could be Dar Re Mi. Her buoyant trainer John Gosden is going for it
Dar Re Mi, homebred of Lord and Lady Lloyd-Webber at Watership Down Stud, will compete next in the Prix Vermeille against France's championne filly Stacelita (Monson GER) and leading contender for the Arc, according to Gosden.
In his view, the Arc, Breeders' Cup, Japan Cup and Hong Kong Cup are all open to his pert little filly.
Sariska's jockey Jamie Spencer offered "No excuses. She just isn't fast enough."
Paddy Power accepted no excuses either, dropped Sariska from Arc betting and is offering on Dar Re Mi.
