Sea The Stars Leads in Cartier Awards Points
Sea The Stars IRE (Cape Cross IRE) leads the Cartier Awards points, based on the races he has won, tallying 176 to Mastercraftsman IRE (Galileo IRE) at 120 in the Three-Year-Old Colt category and also in Cartier Horse of the Year category.
In the latter, the two colts are followed by three fillies: Ghanaati with 104, Sariska 97 and Goldikova 96.
Readers of the Racing Post and The Daily Telegraph will vote in October for their favourites before the Award dinner on November 17.
Bookmakers are no longer taking odds on STS' taking up his entry in the Irish Champion Stakes on September 5 as the ground has been heavy all Summer.
Mastercraftsman, who injured his foot in the Juddmonte International, may run in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes II in September.
STS has entries in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes II, the Arc de Triomphe October 4 where he is third favourite, the English Champion Stakes October 17 at Newmarket Racecourse and could compete in the Breeders' Cup November 7 or races in Japan or Hong Kong where his owner Christopher Tsui lives.
Decisions are all ground dependent.
