Entries for Investec Coronation Cup

Though Aiden O'Brien does not have a strong candidate in the Investec Oaks, he has three strong candidates in the Investec Derby on Saturday and has the odds-on favourite in Friday's Investec Coronation Cup in Fame And Glory.

The four-year old by Montjeu IRE has won a Group 3 and Group 1 race this year in Ireland and is a solid stayer who can handle the 1m4f course for older horses.

He has an interesting competitor in former Oaks' winner Sariska (Pivotal) who not only descimated the small field in the Yorkshire Oaks which included Midday (Oasis Dream), but she has improved in size, power and speed.

Youmzain IRE (Sinndar IRE), perpetual second in the Arc de Triomphe, has not won a race since 2008 and was eighth in his last race, the Sheema Classic, to Gosden filly Dar Re Mi (Singspiel IRE).

If he fires and has better luck than usual, he is easily capable of winning this race.

Godolphin has entered Cavalryman (Halling USA) from France.  He was fifth to Dar Re Mi in the Sheema.

Trainer Mark Johnston has the intrepid grey Jukebox Jury IRE (Montjeu IRE) who was 15th in the Sheema and won a 12f Group 2 at Newmarket May 1.

Those five are solid performers joined by five less experienced types in filly High Heeled, mare Clowance, South Easter, Bashkirov and Coolmore pacemaker Dixie Music who should assure a good, even pace.
