BHA Is Cracking Down
Harry Findlay
The lively owner of Denman has been warned off racecourses for six months being banned after a hearing before the British Horseracing Authority for breaking the Rules against betting on his own horses.
Findlay will appeal.
Update:
An agited campaign by highly-placed racing figures who are against the BHA decision prompted the Chairman of the BHA, Paul Roy, to make an unusual formal statement explaining the decision and backing it.
No one, no matter how much they contribute to racing, is above the Rules.
Aiden O'Brien
The British Horseracing Authority will hear charges against Ballydoyle's Aiden O'Brien who refused to allow the Doncaster course vet to examine Cape Blanco after he won the Dante Stakes (with Derby winner Workforce second). The horse was slightly injured in the race.
