Breeders' Cup CEO Recruits Entries in Europe
The President and CEO of the Breeders Cup, Gregory Avioli, is in Europe to recruit the winners and seconds of qualifyer races for the two Breeders' Cup Days November 5 and 6.
Ireland's National Stakes winner Pathfork USA (Distorted Humor USA) is training on Dirt to compete in the Grade 1 race for two-year olds, said his trainer Jessica Harrington.
Saeed bin Suroor of Godolphin confirmed that Poet's Voice (Dubawi IRE) would accept his invitation for the BC Mile after winning the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot.
No word if Makfi (Dubawi IRE) will compete in the BC after his loss in the QEII.
PV will take on the great French mare Goldikova IRE (Anaaba USA) who is going for her third back-to-back victory in the Mile race.
Avioli said that Freddy Head, Goldikova's trainer, had arranged a trip to his stables and a visit with Goldikova during the Arc weekend.
She will run in the Prix de la Foret.
Avioli regards Goldikova as a Super Star along with America' great Zenyatta USA (Street Cry IRE) who will try to win her second Breeders' Cup Classic on the 6th.
He also made clear his great admiration for jockey Frankie Dettori whom he regards as one of racing's greatest assets.
