Cad Of The Meet

The American jockey riding Red Disire (JPN), Kent Desormeaux, admitted that he deliberately stalked Henry Cecil's Midday and closed the pockets as they opened for her in the Breeders' Cup Turf Mile.

Midday's jockey Tom Queally had kept the favourite mid pack ready to move nearer the post, but he was repeatedly checked by Desormeaux.

When she finally escaped, she could only make second by a head to the deserving Shared Account.

Desormeaux told the press, after winning the Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic on Unbridled Belle, that "the European horses have such a turn of foot" that you cannot easily beat them.

That was his justification for his dirty tricks.

So what will they do to Goldikova

And Zenyatta? Though not European, she is known for a great turn of foot.  One can be sure she is the prime target of jockeys like Desormeaux.
