Belmont Boys' Futures

After their successful victory in the Belmont Stakes, Union Rags' trainer Michael Matz said his horse is well today and will be aimed at Saratoga's Jim Dandy July 28 or the Haskell at Monmouth July 29 to be followed by the Travers at Saratoga August 25.

Matz intends to give his horse the best chances to prove that Union Rags deserves to be the Eclipse Horse of the Year over the retired I'll Have Another.

I'll Have Another has returned to Doug O'Neill's stable in California for the present.

According to Bob Baffert, Paynter is doing well with open future plans.

Dale Romans confirmed that Belmont Stakes' favourite Dullahan, seventh in the race, could not handle the Dirt track and will shift to Turf.

That is very good news for the American Turf world.

He can compete with Acclamation, Eclipse Older Horse Awardee, who has returned to racing after an eight-month layoff and won the Charles Whittingham Memorial Handicap (Grade 1), 1m2f (1┬╝m, 2000m) at Hollywood Park on June 9.

The six-year-old Acclamation is aimed at the Breeders' Cup Turf at Santa Anita and that is where young Dullahan should be headed.

Time for the USA to give the rest of the world's Turf world some competition.  It did it successfully in the 2011 Breeders' Cup Mile taking first and second.
